Astra Convertible Roof Hose | Repair guide

Here at ALNO product services we’ve had many enquiries about how people can go about repairing the hydraulic hose on their Holden Astra convertible.  Over the year we have manufactured and reconditioned numerous hoses to replace broken an Astra hoses that no longer work.  

Our customers are sometimes curious in figuring out how to properly install the parts but we advise you to never attempt to replace the hose if you are unsure of how to go about it.  Below are some simple guidelines to follow but they are not the complete solution. 

Open your Holden Astra convertibles roof to expose the hydraulic hose.  This may take a bit of fiddling but the Astra owner’s manual can help you with this.


Gently remove the hose assembly from the cylinder in the vehicle’s roof and from the pump system.  Insert your new hose from ALNO Product Services. Don’t forget to top up the oil tank with hydraulic hose oil if you don’t have any on hand we also sell this oil.  Reset the hydraulic system.

Astra convertible roof hose broken?

Replacing a broken hose can be quite simple yet it can turn into a complete head ache.

Over the past 10 years the team at ALNO Product Services have seen many cases of hose doctor or local hose replacement companies fitting such hoses.  In general these hoses work perfecting fine and these companies know there hoses yet, in many cases in fitting these hoses does not get the roof work as new.

Some roofs only move 2 or 3 centimeters and then stop moving or in the worst cases latches latches break and need replacing. In other cases the roof works perfectly fine for 2 or 3 weeks then these issues arise where you push the button and the roof does not move if the roof is in the open position or if the roof in closed position.
